Meet the new nibbly AI agent
nibbly 2.3.0 introduces an optional AI agent in the frontend Copilot. The earlier AI tools helped with individual tasks; the agent can now work through a broader editorial request, understand what the current page can edit, and prepare a coherent set of changes. It remains switched off until an administrator enables it.
From a request to a reviewable change set
Ask for a page update, a news draft or an event. The agent reads the site's available content and the structure of the rendered template, then stages proposed text, list items, sections and media. It does not get arbitrary access to PHP files or the server. Where available, it can research with Brave Search, read a URL supplied in the chat, use credited Pexels images or generate labelled AI images. Sources and media credits remain visible in the review.
Editors stay in control
Nothing is saved merely because the chat says "yes". The review shows each proposed change with before and after, validation results, warnings and a preview on the real page. An authorised person must confirm the apply step. Each apply is journalled and backed up, with an undo path. Changes to existing published content become live when applied; newly created pages, news posts and events remain private or hidden until a separate publish action.
Optional, bounded and site-aware
Administrators configure the agent under Dashboard → Settings → AI Settings → AI agent. They can set run limits, decide what editors may do and configure research and stock-image services. The provider must support tool calling. The agent uses the site's existing flat-file content model, while provider credentials stay on the server. Sites that do not want AI can leave the feature disabled.
